An ASE-certified technician puts the car on factory-level software, reads the stored codes alongside live data, and works out which fault actually produced the symptom you drove in with. Guessing is expensive. A misfire code on an Audi 2.0T can point at a coil, an injector or a cracked intake-manifold runner flap, and replacing all three to be safe is how a small bill becomes a large one.
